Pack Rat Monthly Meetings

The Pack Rats meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at the Ben Wilson Senior Center in Warminster, PA (except for the June, July and August meetings. See below). See Meetings for a map and more information.

Jan - 01/21/10, The much anticipated Software Defined Radio (SDR) review presentation given by Bob, N4HY. Come listen to the absolute latest in what is happening in the world of SDR.

Feb - 02/18/10, Combination Crying Towel and Homebrew Night

Crying Towel: Members and guests are encouraged to describe their January contest woes and dealings with Murphy. A Towel is awarded to the best story of the night to help sop up the tears.

Homebrew Night: Everyone is encouraged to bring in and describe their latest homebrew project. A panel of select judges will review the projects and award prizes.

Mar - 03/19/09, ARRL Night. KX9X, Sean Kutzko, ARRL Contest Manager is special guest from headquarters. His topic: "Growing VHF QSOs From Scratch: Encouraging More VHF Activity"

Apr. - 04/16/09, Down East Microwave Night; N2CEI, Steve Kostro, Owner of Down East Microwave Inc., will speak on the latest and greatest products cranked out by the gnomes in Liveoak, Florida.

May - 5/21/09, Completion and testing of the 903 amplifiers -- bring yours along for final output testing. Also, June VHF Contest discussion and arrangements.

June - 6/18/09, The June Pack Rat elections meeting will be held at Otto's Brauhaus 233 Easton Rd, Horsham, PA, in the Biergarten on Thursday June 18th. Dutch treat dinner starts at 6:30PM and meeting will commence at 8PM. Come early, have fun, discuss the VHF contest results and liquid refreshment, German style. July - 7/16/09, The July Pack Rat meeting and 'White Elephant' sale/auction will be held again this year at the QTH of Gary Hitchner, WA2OMY. 39 West Mount Kirk Avenue, Norristown PA. Opens at 7 PM for inspection, meeting and auction start at 7:30 PM. Bring your radio or computer related stuff to sell at the auction, money to buy other's goodies and lawn chairs for seating. Aug. - 8/08/09, The Pack Rat annual picnic will be held at a new location this year on Saturday, August 8th from noon til ?? ... at the QTH of KB1JEY, Mike and Carol Davis, 533 Tennis Avenue, Ambler, PA. Bring lawn chairs and a bathing suit as the pool will be open. Bring a covered dish to share. Burgers, dogs and liquid refreshments provided gratis. Family, children and guests invited. Sept. - 9/17/09

Oct. - 10/15/09 “TECH NIGHT”, with test gear on hand to check your construction projects and checkout your contest gear. Please let WA2OMY or W3GAD know what type of testing you want to perform. We are not planning on testing LNA for noise figure performance during this session.

Nov. - 11/19/09 Chris Patterson, W3CMP will present details from past VHF DXpeditions including his most recent Guyana 6m DXpedition, 8R1DB. Note: Meet the speaker dinner (dutch treat) 6 PM at Giuseppe's (Warminster Square Shopping Center, Warminster PA.)

Dec. - 12/17/09 Annual contest analysis meeting presentation given by Ben, WA3RLT to prepare everyone for the upcoming January Contest
